Ode to Chris Farmer

So I met this guy at a Stinking Lizaveta show at the now defunct Moondance in Richmond, Virginia in 1997. We had wild times and fell madly in love. We got pregnant after a particularly wild New Year's Eve house party. We had a baby boy, married, bought a house, I got cancer, we had a babygirl (which Chris caught: see first blog entry ever).  Chris is an amazing partnerand father. He is also a musician of great passion and skill. Since the world wide web doesn't have a comprehensive discography of Chris Farmer, I place it here, along with links for you listening pleasure.

music meme

I've never been tagged on a blog before! Thanks for including me Julie and might I say that this is a deeply difficult task.

01. Total volume of music files on my computer? More than my PC can handle but there is quite a bit of Ween, Bjork, Low and Arcade Fire on it at the moment.

02.The last CD I bought was?
"Sung Tongs" Animal Collective

03.Song playing right now:
Brian Eno's Thursday Afternoon

04.Five songs I listen to a lot or that mean a lot to me(in no particular order):
"Take it to the limit" by the Eagles is the first song I remember singing in car as a young girl. I used to belt out the chorus as, "Take it to the lemon one more tiiiiime." It holds enormous sentimental value.
"The Purple Dusk of Twilight" by Chris Farmer
"La Mamma Morta" by Maria Callas
"Pagan Poetry" by Bjork
"Thursday Afternoon"(61 min. version) by Brian Eno

05.Which 5 people are you passing this baton to, and why?
chris : becaue he's my man and I should know these things
corey : because we it has been a while since we've shared music
p.n. : because I know I'll be surprised and pleased
abbie : because we are new friends and I need to know :)
kirsten : because we've been sharing and it is time for more depth
tracy , that 6...ooops: because I think I'll like whatever she posts

my new CD is here!

I've not had a new CD in ages ( money is tight) but my incredibly generous and loving bestfriend had the new Bjork CD preordered for us and it came yesterday. I tried to get the lil girlchild to nap all day but that didn't happen so I listened to it partly while I cooked dinner then sat in front of the PC updating this jank while giving a good listen.

The beats make me happy and alot of the sounds are nice round organic sounds.....me like. Hell, I'm not sure if there is any Bjork I don't like....

Thanks to fellow Squarespacer, Ben of New Monkey , I've been listening to some really eerie and floaty, pretty music called Sung Tongs by Animal Collective . Thanks, Ben.

Anyone else want to recommend some big, beautiful music???
