thinking bloggers

I don't even know what to say to Kim Campbell of Relaxed Homeskool who has nominated me for a Thinking Blogger Award.
If I had caught this meme first, I would have nominated her but someone else already recognized her blogging genius.
However, I'm fortunate enough to have run into quite a few thinking bloggers over the years and am happy to nominate the following bloggers for a Thinking Blogger Award. These are bloggers who make me a better writer, a better photographer, a better teacher, a better mother and they inspire me. Maybe they'll inspire you too.
Julie Bogart and I have a great deal in common. We both homeschool our children and we are both very interested in discussing all thing related to spirituality and religion. She is currently working on her master's in Theology at Xavier (something I secretly wish to do in the future). Julie is also an entrepreneur with her own writing business called Brave Writer. She also writes a column for UPI. Julie makes me think so much I have to avoid reading her blogs somedays :) There are only a few people I've met online that I'd like to meet offline: Julie and Kim Campbell are the top 2. What city is equidistant between Richmond, Cincinnati and Chicago?
Most recently, I discovered Intrepid Flame through my participation in the Self Portrait Challenge community art project. Intrepid Flame has drawn me in with Rumi quotes, a thoughtful and provocative piece as to why he decided to self-censor a recent Self Portrait Challenge entry and his blogs subtitle: Building communities where information and art serve the search for truth. An organic interactive medium to forge an arena dedicated to individual/communal growth and peace. Not to mention, we share similar musical tastes as well:)
Ms.Kathleen from Charm City writes in a prosey style about her adventures, trials and successes working in a Baltimore City school. She's the Teacher of the Shorties and she does it with love and always with peace in mind. Not many people are cut out to do the work Ms.Kathleen does. Her blog is also photo rich.
Maybe you are a homeschooler, maybe you're not. It doesn't mater really, you'll probably find something of interest and relevance in this amazing group blog called Life Without School. Life Without School is a group blog by homeschoolers from all walks of life who write about the many aspects of educating children without school. I guarantee you'll be thinking after reading some of these articles. They reflect a ever growing group of people who are looking for a different way to go about raising and educating thier children. Reading this blog is a validating experience for me and it always spurns me to further develop my own thoughts and theories on education, parenting, and living positively.
Connected to Life Without School is Stephanie Elms from whom I first heard the phrase ,"Learning can only happen when a child is interested. If she is not interested it is like throwing marshmallows at her head and calling it eating." This was her signature at the end of every message she posted on a very active Homeschool list that I used to read but can no longer eek out the time to read. Her blog, Throwing Marshmallows also deserves a Thinking Blogger Award . I've recently been reading her blog and enjoy her quick wit and homeschooling "style." She's another HS'er I'd like to meet:)
So, there are my five Thinking Blogger Awards. I now tag the winners to hand out some awards of their own!!
