First camping trip of the year
05.30.2006
We spent the weekend camping on a big clearing on the Rappahannock river. This picture pretty much describes it all. There was a tent village chocked full of artists, dogs, children food ,fire, libations, music and lots of sun. It couldn't have been lovelier. I hope we have many more weekends like this it. Many thanks to the T & A for hosting this every year.
Corey, my number one girlfriend, came down from Boston and camped with us. I mistakenly assumed we could squeeze 5 people in a 4 person tent but she's no delicate flower and she slept outside under the stars. Luckily, the mosquitoes weren't problematic.
I'm hoping we can spend more time camping this year. Girl child is 2 and quite adaptable. Thing is, I don't come from a camping family and I'm always stymied as to how to pack efficiently and the whole food thing always cause me anxiety. Any campers care to share their tips ? I'm all ears...or rather, all eyes:)
