BELIZE

So my best friend is traipsing off to Belize to go sea kayaking with her mother. Sounds awful, right?
I realized that I do not know in which country Belize resides....South Asia?  South America?  Nope,  Central America,  next to Guatemala. It's a teenie country. I've heard tell that Belize is the only "official" English speaking country in Central America. Here is their fine flag. The coat of arms contains tools for woodcutting and woodcutters. The mahogany industry formed the basis for Belize's economy in the 18th and 19th centuries. "Sub Umbra Florero" is Belize's motto. It means "Under the shade I flourish."  The national flower is the black orchid and the national tree is, of course, the mahogany. The national bird is the Keel Billed Toucan and Belize's animal is the tapir or Mountain Cow.
